Default Is Free Shipping being charged

Ok, what we have done is offer free shipping on our website for all of our products and what we did was change the bit on each variant to Is Free Shipping to Yes. Now what is happening is that every product does get free shipping UNLESS you order one of the 8 products on our site that is charged shipping then it adds a shipping rate for the free item . This is a problem, any solutions other than rewriting all of the shipping routines, I am trying to avoid that.

    Thanks.

Version 8. To solve this problem we had to turn off Real Time Shipping and enter fixed shipping rates. Not exactly what we wanted but it works.

This issue is caused by having the AppConfig: FreeShippingAllowsRateSelection set to TRUE

Set this to FALSE and it should function normally.

The problem there though is that if a customer selects next day air the free shipping items still get free shipping, which we don't want, we only want them to have UPS Ground as the free shipping option. Good suggestion though and it worked great until I discovered the next day air thing.
