    Default Credit Card Types

I want to remove AMEX and Diners from the list of card types and add other types. I see where to do it, in the manage credit cards section, but do the names you enter have any bearing on the transaction? For example, If I want to add SOLO as a card type, does it simply result in the name being shown in the list or is the name used as a variable in the transaction?. If so, is there anything I need to bear in mind? I'm a UK first timer using Protx and still finding my round

According to the VSP Direct Owners Manual, CardType is passed with the request, and can be any of “VISA”, ”MC”, ”DELTA”, “SOLO”, “MAESTRO”, “UKE”, “AMEX”, “DC” or “JCB”. “SWITCH” is still accepted but you should use “MAESTRO”. MC is MasterCard, UKE is Visa Electron. AMEX and DC (DINERS) can only be accepted if you have additional merchant accounts with those acquirers.

Thanks Jon. Yeah, I saw that and wondered whether to add these but they look like "values" where when you add a card type they are just the names? There's no value associated with them. So MC would show up as a card type in the list? Sorry if i'm missing something stupid here

There is a FixCardType method that converts (fixes) from the displayed-name to the abbrevated-name that Protx expects.

    Here is the list:

    Discover -- DC
    MasterCard -- MC
    Switch/UKMaestro -- SWITCH
    Delta/VisaDebit -- DELTA
    VisaElectron -- UKE

The Discover translation is wrong; it's supposed to be Diner's Club. Also, there doesn't appear to be a way for you to specify your own wording without recompiling the entire class.

So, when I enter these into Misc > More > Credit Card Types I need to enter them exactly like this:

    Discover -- DC
    MasterCard -- MC
    Switch/UKMaestro -- SWITCH
    Delta/VisaDebit -- DELTA
    VisaElectron -- UKE

    Have I understood that correctly?

    Cheers

No, you choose from the following options:

    MasterCard or MC
    Switch/UKMaestro or Maestro
    Delta/VisaDebit or Delta
    VisaElectron or UKE
    Visa
    Solo
    AmEx
    DC
    JCB

    Hi,

I am trying to add Visa Electron to my list of accepted cards, I have followed the advice above, but it is not showing in the checkout.

The AppConfig is set like this:

    Visa:VISA,Mastercard:MCARD,Switch/Maestro:SWITCH,DeltaELTA,VisaElectron:UKE

The others all seem to work fine, it is just UKE I am struggling with.

    Ah... I have it.

Misc > More > Credit Card Types . Is v7. misc menu no longer around in v8.

Manual at http://manual.aspdotnetstorefront.co...t-gateway.aspx says we need UKE, whereas I have it set as dispalyed "Electon" do I need to edit to "Visa Electron UK Debit" to be sending to Protx as UKE?
