Would it be difficult to have the Ajax shipping calculator also show up on the shopping cart page?

It is a very useful feature now, however, it would be even more beneficial to give shoppers the total shipping cost of what they have actually put into their cart before requiring them to register & login!

Glueit, I believe it works the way you want
I went to the Geartree website, where I do not have registered, and as soon as I typed a zip code, it gave me a shipping price estimate AJAX-style.

    Hello fsantos,

If you add a guitar to the shopping cart (Preferrably a Jackson ).........then look in the cart you will still see "Shipping: Calculated During Checkout"

So all customers (or potential customers) must still register before seeing the actual shipping cost of the order they are "contemplating" placing. Sure, if a customer is only intending on buying a single item from your store then they already saw the shipping costs for this item, however, add multiple items and you no longer no what the shipping cost will be until you complete the registration process.

I was just saying that it would be an even more useful feature to also show the total shipping costs on the shopping cart page, it is at this point where a potential customer will decide to continue, or not!

    Thanks Rob,

    That is awesome!

PS: I sure don't want to minimize the efforts ASPDNSF has already made with the Ajax shipping calculator, because this truly is an excellent feature to take away the "What is my cost for shipping" mystery!

Is this feature built into the new C# 7.0.1 build? If so, where do you turn it on?

can you ballpark ML release with this functionality? trying to decide my project order, and this would be a big help (i.e. i can plan when i will upgrade against other mods)

Knock Knock... Is the AJAX shipping estimator in the production build yet? 7.0.1.2?

Since it is working well enough to distribute independently, when can we expect to see it in the prod code?

    ASPDNSF Staff,

Which AJAX library are you using to implement this?

    Thanks,

    Jason

Did you ever add an ajax shipping estimator for the shopping cart page? I looked around in the code but all i could find is the one you did for the product pages. If it is not there, is it something that is still planned on being added?

any idea how to implemente the Shipping cost?

acording to the Knowledgebase here https://support.aspdotnetstorefront....id=160&nav=0,6

we need to add this new styles to the skin's style.css file.
This is great but how we turn of the Country dropdown from within the Style? using AjaxShippingCountryPrompt?

We implemented the shipping estimator per KB article 106 "Enabling the AJAX shipping calculator"

It calculates the shipping cost nicely however we are getting an error on the page: "'document topsearchform.SearchTerm' is null or not an object"

This error shows up on both product and non product pages:
    http://www.wescooutfitters.com/p-7464-alaska-pro-hunter-wrangell-knife-by-columbia-river.aspx

    http:www.wescooutfitters.com

Removing "<script type="text/javascript" src="jscripts/revAjax.js"></script>" from the skin templete removes the error and of course disables the shipping calculator.

Has any one else seen this error?

    Will
