Default Display coupon dollar amount on cart page

My client would very much like to display the dollar amount that the customer is receiving as a discount after they apply a coupon on the shopping cart page. For example:

    Gross Price (before discounts) $101.90
    10% Promo discount $ 10.19
Subtotal (after promo discount) $ 91.71

Our developer has looked at the code and doesn't think there's a single dollar value available (we do have the source code) that contains this value. Any suggestions? Since this client is on Version 8.0, does the new promo module in Version 9 offer something like this as well as a "Volume Discount" option which allows the client to set levels at which different discounts could be applied based on order total (10% off of $50 order, 20% off of $100 order, etc.)?

Any input would be much appreciated!!! Annette

    Default No luck

Unfortunately, we did not. ASPDNSF Support said it was not possible out-of-the-box because of all the different places where discounts could be applied (quantity discounts, free shipping, customer level, etc.) and that the new promotion engine in 9.2 probably wouldn't provide this functionality either. The client wasn't interested in paying for us to custom develop the feature, so it "went away". Sorry!

    Default Darn!

Well that sucks! Man you would think that would be a no brainer. I guess we continue to hope.

    Thanks for the response.
