Thread: Some information required

Hello everyone,

I am process of determining is aspdontnetfront right solution for our company. Since there is no downlodable demo, I need to know several information:

1. SEARCH. Looking at the demo sites, there is only simple search. Is there such capability for aspdontnetfront that will enable us to make advanced searches, such as:
- Narrow down search
- Search by custom fields (if product has wings like airplane, make search based on wing specifications)

2. MIGRATION: We will be making our own parser to parse hundreds of thousands products. How difficult is to do it for aspdontnetfront? We have done it before for several other carts, where we manually (programatically) fill tables such as products, categories, manufacturers, vendors etc... is it doable in aspdontnetfront?

3. How does aspdontnetfront handle large amount of data, given good hardware specifications?


Can someone please help me out here, since I could not find decent answer.

I would speak to Vortex directly as they can certainly offer a demo of not just the site but the admin system too

Everyone here uses their own way of running an ASPDNSF site so the answers would vary but if it is a CMS you are considering I'd propose speaking to Vortex first

But to answer your questions

There are other add ons that can be purchased that apply custom filtering with the search. A few examples are

And of course any of the approved ASPDSNF developers have their own search functionality that you may want to check out

We use the Bulk import method to import our data. But there are other ways to import data such as Commander. Or even the standard WSI method

From my experience it handles it well. If you have hundreds of thousands of products I'd speak to your hosting company to recommend a good hosting solution for you. I have found that with the right infastructure ASPDNSF handles data very well.
