We are using the framework to handle a different type of business...In doing so, we need to track products by geographic regions, and countries within regions (or country alone).

We also have "partners" that are indirectly associated to products via "sub-partners" and both the partner and sub-partner can receive backoffice communications, but are not essential to product display or filtering.

The current though is to use categories for the regions/countries and to use distributors for the later.

Is there a best practice for how to utilize the various entities? Category, Manufacturer, Department, Distributor?
