Default Urgent: Why images are not resized even after I specified new sizes in AppConfigs?

    Hi,

We're experiencing a problem of resizing images in storefront. I specified new sizes for the product icon images in AppConfigs and we didn't specify anything in Image Name Override but the images are not resized at all. Why's that? Can any one shed some light? Thanks.

Images are sized upon upload. If you change the sizing AppConfigs after you have already uploaded the photos, you will need to re-upload them for the new size to take effect.

    Hi,

The suggestion didn't work. We changed the AppConfigs settings to new sizes and reloaded the images but the images were not resized as expected. Any thoughts?

Are you uploading the Large image, with LargeCreatesOthers set to true? If so, make sure that LargeOverwritesOthers is also set to true.

If that's not it, here are a few resources that might help:

Thanks for the reply. We just tried to upload ProductImage_Icon images. Anything we were missing? Any parameter we didn't set for the upload?

Image resize triggers on uploading the large image - all 4 images will be resized at once.

I may have struck the same problem as you in the past, this is due to the fact there are 2 ways to edit a product info in the admin and upload images. The first way is to use the "manage products" or "manage manufacturers" list and click into them that way, the image resize always works for me that way if you just upload the large image size only and it will resize it to the icon. The second way is if you list the products by going into "bulk update pricing" and you can click through to a different style of product editing page, if you try and upload an image that way it won't do the resizing for some reason. I think it's because that's an old way of product update that they didn't add the resize function to.
