Thread: Parts as products

Hi, We are setting up a site for selling appliance parts to distributors and repairmen and looking for any advice on setup, 3rd party add-ons, custom dev options, etc. Just the parts are sold on the site, not the finished products, although the parts need to be organized by their respective finished product.

Many of the features we need are similar to what is offered here:

and we plan on contacting Pricedex but are looking for other options as well. Pricing levels, printable part lists, part no/serial search are required features. Diagram image hot spot with part highlight, tree view and video/flash are optional.

We are looking for ideas from anyone. Those wanting to be paid for consulting or custom dev will need to prove experience in exact same or very similar functionality.

We currently have setup selling parts for one of our clients. They normally sell finished units however they wanted to grow their product base by including parts.

Now they can add parts via two methods. By Manufacturer or by Master Product using our custom add new spare page.

Here are a few examples:

We also have a powerful custom search that can pick up SKU's/names and we are able to call upon any field (searching barcodes for example if they wished). ASPDNSF has built in pricing levels that you can use. We would be able to create master/finished products that you can not buy however they would provide printable part lists as well as listing all the parts.
