Default Important information regarding ML 8 and software updates

Effective immediately, we are replacing ML8 as our entry-level platform. In its place is MultiStore Express. No lowering of features or functionality – instead we offer a restricted number of products to be sold by an Express Store.

Please be assured that ML8 is still very much supported. We are just not selling any more copies. It is time for us to consolidate.

Also effective immediately, we are unveiling our policy on Update Rights, which allow all licensees, regardless of their platform, to sign up for an annual program which dramatically reduces the cost of updates during that time. Until September 19, 2011, we are opening a short window of opportunity during which time our valued customers, regardless of the version of their current software, may purchase one year's worth of Update Rights. After that time, Update Rights can only be purchased at the time of software purchase, so please, hurry, act today.

    Default Concern by this announcement

A switch from ML8 that holds 600 products to MultiStore Express that holds 30 is not a "like-to-like" move.

If we purchase Update Rights for our ML8 product, how does that translate to getting MultiStore with 1 store?

The temporary $299 offer to license holders covers an update from any version to the current version of MultiStore. If you purchase Update Rights by Sept. 18th, you will be able to go from ML8 to 1-store MultiStore anytime in the next year.

Like-for-Like might be better understood as Express-for-Express, MultiStore-for-Multistore. If you buy Update Rights with MS Express, you will get all new releases of Express. That just means that you can't go from Express to MultiStore with your Update Rights without paying the $700 difference between the two Editions.

Default What about us MultiStore owners?

We just purchased the most recent version of MultiStore in April, expecting to get a fully functional store only to find numerous bugs in it. What does this mean for us who already have the most recent version and need these bugs fixed?

With Update Rights, you will be able to upgrade to 9.2, which will be released this week, and any other versions that are released in the next year. You may find that many of those bugs have been fixed.

Default SQL database in version 8.0.1.4?

I need to know if the database in version 8.0.1.4 is a SQL database. I've not found it described.
