    Default Localhost via local IP

    Hello
We have the Multi store 9.1, we set it up on server 2008 that we use for testing and development.

The site work fine with this link http://localhost/Test/AspDotNetStorefront/
From within the 2008 server localhost, BUT when trying to reach the site from our other machines using a local IP
    http://192.168.1.100/Test/AspDotNetStorefront/
    We get this message:
THIS SITE IS RUNNING UNLICENSED ASPDOTNETSTOREFRONT.COM SOFTWARE!" and we cannot see our work or browse it.

Anyone knows how to work around this?

    Thanks!
    Alan

    Hi Alan,

I'm afraid you can't "work around" the licensing - that's in place for a reason. The license key that you created will allow the software to work at the FQDN you entered, localhost, and anything with an 'aspdotnetstorefront' subdomain. If you access it anywhere else (say at a direct IP like you're trying to do), it's going to display that unlicensed message.

Once you set your site up to be accessed at one of the allowed addresses, your developers should be able to access it fine.

If you are looking for a way for multiple developers to access the site, use the aspdotnetstorefront.domain.com or staging.aspdotnetstorefront.domain.com model.
Don't want to use a public domain? Then add something aspdotnetstorefront to each developer's hosts file pointing at the ip address...

    Good luck

There's more info on the host file approach that mjg mentioned at http://manual.aspdotnetstorefront.co...ple-sites.aspx

Hey, this just answered my question about how to get different storefronts to load on a local machine. Thanks!
