Thread: Managing unpublished manufacturers and products

I add new manaufacturers and products to my catalog once in a while. I've found it impossible to prepopulate data related to either as long as they're unpublished. If the manufacturer is unpublished, then I can't assign a product to the manufacture. If I can't make that assignment, I can't upload product images, I can't add a product description, etc. Is there a standard way to override this? Changing the start date to a future date does not help.

Count me in on that as well.

Same holds true for categories. This is rather annoying because once the entity list is cached you have to reset that in order to see them populated in the Parent Entity menu drop down list again regardless of setting the ChacheMenus appconfig. Also the GetEntityArrayList() function accepts a parameter "AllowCaching" which is never used in the function.
