Default Initial first page load time with V9

We are in the process of upgrading our V8 site to V9 and ae working on creating the new skin. When the site initially loads we are seeing the first page loading time of 10-15 minutes. Is this normal with V9? We have pretty intense servers and V8 took something like 15 seconds, this V9 is flipping go get lunch and eat it then come back....

Hmm, Kirk do you have SP1 installed? There were large performance improvements with SP1 so please make sure that is installed first.

BTW, how many categories and products do you have?

I was unable to get to the SP's without first creating a 9.0.1.3 key. After I did that I got the more updated 9.0.1.3 version and installed it. It seemed to make a difference and the rendering is different too.

We have about 100 categories and about 600,000 products in the system at the moment.

Good to hear it helped. If you need additional SQL tweaking to help the speed with 600k products, please don't hesitate to contact Jan at jsimacek@compunix.us
