Thread: How do customers purchase Gift Cards?

How do we configure/enable Gift Cards in aspdotnetstorefront so that the customers can purchase Gift Cards from the site? At the moment I can see there is a section in the back end to manage Gift Cards at Configuration->Payment->Gift Card Management in which the admin can create new cards. So is it always only the admin can create cards? Can someone explain how it works from customer's perspective?

You can setup gift cards just like any ordinary products and sell them in the front-end, the only difference is the 'product type', see below.



There's also another way of setting up a gift card, which allows customers to set the amount at the time they purchase it rather than using an admin preset price. More info here.
