    can any one please do let me know how do i replace addtocart image instead of button in version 9.0.1.3

    See the following appconfigs:

    AddToCart.UseImageButton
    AddToCart.AddToWishButton
    AddToCart.AddToGiftRegistryButton
    AddToCart.AddToCartButton

    you can just set AddToCart.UseImageButton to true and specify the corresponding image buttons, then they should show up in front end the same way you handled them via CSS.

    Make sure that image to be place in Apptheme/skins/skin_{}/images/
