Default Resize Product Images that are on the server (Through FTP)

We are receivng thousands of images from a catalog for a Silk Screen printing website.

The images are very big. The image resize works great in ML 9 and Multi Store when you upload the images in admin.

However, we are uploading thousands of images through FTP.

    We are using imagefilenameoverride.

Is there any utility that can be used to go through these images and resize them.

Has anyone worked on this issue before.

    Hi

We've developed a couple of versions of a module like that for versions 7, 8 and 9. It runs as an admin menu item and processes all the large image files on the server.

For each large image found, it looks for a matching icon and/or medium image. If none is found, it uses the AppConfig resize settings and creates the images for you.

It's a really quick way to process thousands of images in one go.

PM or email me if you are interested.

I use irfanview (free) to batch resize images. It's easy and fast.
