    Default Packs in v9

Does anyone know what the plan is for packs in v9?

Product.packproduct.xml.config doesn't appear to be supplied in 9.0.1.3, the 'pack' product type has gone and the online manual doesn't make reference to packs... does this mean packs are still in development, or are they changing?

We've got a new client who is interested in purchasing ASPDotNetStorefront. They have a requirement for pre-configured pack products (a product made up from 2 other products but with a unique price). They don't want the customer to be able to choose the pack items.

The lack of any visible packs or other composite product support in v9 is currently putting them off.

I guess the lack of response is the answer - no pack support in V9?

Packs were removed, however the new kit functionality allows you to do the same thing. Every kit item can be tied to an existing product variant, and you can even mark kit items as 'required' and/or 'read only', so you can make pre-defined packs.

Many thanks for the response - much appreciated.

As an ASPDotNetStorefront developer, I wasn't aware of this and I'm sure others aren't either - it would be great if there were some worked examples available online or at the very least, keep the 'packs' description in the V9 manual but tell users that the feature has moved into kits.

At the moment, it just looks like the pack feature has disappeared.

    Yeah,
I just has the same question. In 9.2 packs are still in the back end. I never needed one until today. I honestly hate the kits, they are the most clunky part of the product creation process. The pack looked really simple and i really wanted to try it out. If you are going to get rid of a feature, can you at least remove it fully? This is pretty frustrating. I have seen the option for packs for the last 2 years (V9.01 to 9.2). Today i researched it and i got excited only to find out it cannot function in 9.

Second, i cannot imagine how to easily make a pack out of a kit. I am trying to make a 12 product pack, we have 2 different products and we want customers to be able to pick and choose how many they want of each one to get to a full case of 12. It is just like your tube sock example, a pack of 12 socks with choices of blue, red and white. So a customer can get 5 white and 7 blue. The pack would be MUCH simpler. Please bring it back!
