    Default Site Search

Ok, I have searched the forum and the web for an answer and haven't found one, is there a way to make the basic search function of ASPDNSF search for any of the words instead of exact phrase? I have included a few examples where the results should be the same or close but they are not, it's really hard for customers to find items on our website unless they know exactly how we word the title.

    50's Glasses - 2 results
    Glasses 50's - 3 different results

    Same thing with

    Flapper Costume - 0 results
Flapper Adult Costume - 2 results
Flapper - Adult Costume - 4 different results

Even something as simple as telling basic search to search meta tags would work, but I can't figure out how to tell the site to search those. Full text search doesn't look to be the way to go as we have far to many items and need the ability to search by SKU.

You would need to enable Full Text Search to do that.

Alternatively, if you are good with google api you can use them for your search. This will do spell correct, closest match to what you were actually looking for, as well as recommended results based on whats the most popular.

here are some sites using Google API:
    visioninstyle.com
    nutrasupply.com
    spicylegs.com

you can visit here to learn more:

I believe North Bridge and Simrun (us) both sell a package for this.

Thank you Andy, yes our cSearch is one of the most popular add-ons out there!

Also, for those sites with more than 100k products we have come out with xSearch which is an extreme :-) version of cSearch made for large and high traffic sites: http://www.ecommercecartmods.com/p-1...torefront.aspx
