Question 301 redirects at URL level

    Hi All

I'm updating my store navigation and have the need to change the URLs of some of my category pages. These category links, however, are currently being used throughout my affiliate network and PPC program so just changing the names of the categories seems like the links would be adversely affected. I'd like to set up 301 redirects at the URL level so that I can permanently redirect the old category to a new category. I've searched on doing this in IIS but it does not seem that it's possible to redirect individual URLs there. Has anyone had the need for this type of situation and found a good solution?

    Smile Thanks

Thank you Alfred. Looks promising. Seems like a good tool for moving my store from its current domain name to a new domain name. Our company merged and changed its name. Ufdah!

The system handles this out of the box - with no adverse effect & SEO friendly 301 redirects.

    e.g. :-
    http://www.3mselect.co.uk/c-662-car-care-products.aspx

is the actual url, but let's say for example it used to be :-

    http://www.3mselect.co.uk/c-662-caring-for-cars.aspx

Note that this will 301 to the correct url.

as will all of the following :-

    http://www.3mselect.co.uk/c-662-testtesttest.aspx
    http://www.3mselect.co.uk/c-662-zzzzzzzzzzz.aspx
    http://www.3mselect.co.uk/c-662-123412341234.aspx

    Default Wow!

Thanks for the info. It works perfectly on the tests I've run.

Our company merged recently, and I'll need to change the domain of my site to fit the new company name. The store is currently IBSDirect.com and needs to be BiblicaDirect.com. BiblicaDirect.com now redirects to IBSDirect.com. I need to flip flop the two domain names.

What's the best way to handle this scenario? I'm told I'll need to set up a new store site and create 301 redirects for every page in my 'old' store to its corresponding page in the 'new' store. I'm hoping that's not the case.
