    Default Inventory

It's possible to add additional sizes and colors (attributes) to a product. However, inventory is kept to just a single field. If you have different sizes and colors - you then have different inventory levels for each. As in, I have 12 XL shirts and 4 M shirts in stock. It's just a single product with attributes, but each would need it's own inventory.

Is there a solution to handle this?

Using the "Track Inventory by Size and Color" option at the product level set to yes, I believe this will get you what you are looking for.
