    Default Massachusetts data security law

Hello all. I recently read an article on SQL Server Magazine website that talked about data from MA needing to be encrypted. Is this something others are aware of?

Not that I'm against encrypting PII, but all that I can say is good luck to MA on enforcing anything outside of their own state borders (jurisdiction). The whole scenario that has a business having to encrypt user info (even if it's just firstname/lastname) if a said user moves to MA is ridiculous.
