Default SSL running on device not server?

I want to run the SSL on my load balancer rather then my server and version 8 says (when i turn on SSL) that the cert is not installed and it will not operate without it. I need it to still inject the "s" to http:// but i cant install the cert on the web server (its for a device only) is there a work-around?

Thank you, but that just tells me that it can be done and just to look out for proxys/supernets, however it doesn't explain how to get the site to relay the https (on cart pages) to the url when no cert is not installed on the server.

I have the code(VB), so maybe there is a workaround in the programing, but i would hope there is some config or something that someone else has tested or is using.

Any insight would be very helpful. Thanks.
