Default Checkout and Receipt email not working.

My Order notification email works fine not the receipt or Shipped email but...........

I send everything from sales@myserver .com why does the order notification work and not the others?

    EMail Test and Configuration
    Receipt Email Failed:
·Mail Error occurred - Exception=Transaction failed. The server response was: Sorry, no mailbox here by that name. (#5.1.1)

    New Order Notification Email Successful

    Shipped Email Failed:
·Mail Error occurred - Exception=Transaction failed. The server response was: Sorry, no mailbox here by that name. (#5.1.1)

That error message was the response coming from your mail server. It is telling you that there was no such email found in their DB. Are you entering the same email for the Order, Receipt, Shipped Notifications? Can you try sending an email to that address via your personal mail and see if it'll go through fine?

Thanks Alfred! We suspected that last night after we posted. Thanks again!

Default E-mail Test Failure on different domain

    Hi Peps,

I've got a similar issue to "dplsr" however my error message states the following on Mailing Test in v.7.1.0.0

    EMail Test and Configuration:
    Receipt Email Failed:
·Mail Error occurred - Exception=Mailbox unavailable. The server response was: no accounts on domain: sweetpixels.co.uk

    New Order Notification Email Successful

    Shipped Email Failed:
·Mail Error occurred - Exception=Mailbox unavailable. The server response was: no accounts on domain: sweetpixels.co.uk

Now this is strange because this domain was probably used for testing but in fact is not the domain for the current live store running. Again New Order Notification E-mail Successful returns but I don't even get that email delivered into my clients sales@ email address

Any idea why I have these domain cached in my clients live database even though all the email AppConfig settings are set to a different domain address?

You'll have to check with whoever maintains the mail server you're currently using to see why they're rejecting the emails. A lot of hosting providers' mail servers won't deliver to domains that they don't host, or require special permissions to do so.

Default E-mail Test Failure on different domain

    Hi Scott,

Think you might have misunderstood what I meant. The error were getting within the Mailing Test module under Misc > More > Mailing Test in v.7.1.0.0 is:

·Mail Error occurred - Exception=Mailbox unavailable. The server response was: no accounts on domain: sweetpixels.co.uk

The domain sweetpixels.co.uk is not the domain we have in our Mailing Test Simple or Advanced tab settings or in any of our AppConfig settings for E-mail. The E-mail address is sales@eternal-uk.co.uk which is the clients domain.

Why is there references to sweetpixels.co.uk our web design companies domain? Maybe we used this for initial testing when staging the site but the site is now live for the past three months and no E-mails are sending. Somewhere in the software/database there is some reference to this old domain name?

    Any ideas?

The only AppConfigs used for email are the ones mentioned in the manual. Either you've got something wrong in one of those, or it's an issue with the mail server.

Default E-mail Test Failure on different domain

    Hi Scott,

I will double check all AppConfig Settings twice over. It's so weird why it should reference a different domain. Is there any database tables where it might be cached or in any file such as the web.config?

Also is there any ASPDNSF log files I can see that might give me some guidance into what is exactly going on?

Everything for sending mail comes from those AppConfigs, there's nowhere else that would be coming from unless something's been modified. AppConfigs are cached, but only for a short time, not 3 months.

Default E-mail Test Failure on different domain

    Hi Scott,

    Well I'm flummoxed

I will try editing those AppConfig settings and re-saving them > reset the cache and look at the mailserver and see what I come up with. Will report back here shortly.

Default E-mail Test Failure on different domain

    Hi Scott,

Yes you were right. I plugged in details of mail servers & Email addresses for two different domains our business owns into our clients live ASDNSF implementation and the test emails worked straight away.

Think there is some issue with our clients domain/DNS or maybe still some redundant cache or something in the system somewhere. But at least I know the software works which is a huge relief.
