Thread: Gift Card Management

Can we override the serial number generated by the system and input a manual number? We have recently migrated to aspdnsf 8.0.1.2 and had gift cards with available balances on them. We'd like to use the same gift card number from the old system...is this possible?

That depends on the gift card type. Physical and Certificate allow you to generate your own serial number and use that. Email gift certifications auto-generate those numbers. You could manually change them in the database directly, but it'd probably be simpler to just use another gift card type.

I had manually entered the gift certificate number and selected the type as "certificate" and the system returned a message that it was an invalid gift certificate code. Any ideas as to why this wouldn't have worked?
