    Default Updating Users Salt/Password - v8

Is there a simple way for me to encode a users password/salt?

or is there a command that will reset all the users and email them with the new details?

    Thanks

It would be easier to reset passwords via WSI using <ResetPassword PasswordType="ClearText|Random">. This node can reset the password for any non admin user to an explicit or new randomly generated password in conformance with store strong password settings. If SendEMailToCustomer=true, then the customer will also be e-mailed their new password. See here (WSI OPERATIONS -> ResetPassword) for more details.

Default Where is' SendEMailToCustomer' set to 'true'

Is 'SendEMailToCustomer' an appConfig? If so, I am not finding it. How does this get set to 'true'?

That's not an AppConfig, no. That's an attribute on the WSI ResetPassword operation.
