    Default Search Terms

Does the search terms log contain searches ON the website?

Not search terms passed from a search engine?

    Thanks

You're correct - the log contains only the search terms entered in the search field of the website.

To track search terms customers enter in a search engine such as Google or Bing before arriving at your site, you'll want an analytics software package. Google Analytics is good.
