    Question Competitive Product?

I have run into a possible competitive situation. Does anyone have any info on PDG Software’s E-Commerce product and how it might compare to ADNSF?

I couldn’t find a whole lot of info on the technical features or any reviews that provided that stuff.

They don’t appear to cater to developers or provide source code for this product other than example HTML templates. It looks somewhat like a cookie-cutter approach for non tech type people. It doesn’t appear to be an enterprise level product. Is that a fair assessment?

Yes, I don't have much first-hand experience with their software, but it appears that source code is not available for it and therefore I would say its a fair assessment that it is not geared toward developers.

That is one of the key features of our platform, the flexibility to use source code to customize the AspDotNetStorefront platform to work in whatever capacity your business requires!

They do seem to have quite a few comparable features according to their features list, and even some features that the AspDotNetStorefront platform doesn't offer...yet!

Also, with the release of our newest version of the ML product, Version 9.0, we've made a lot of updates and changes to push the software to the next level.

Some of the new features included in ML v9.0 include:

    - Backup payment gateway
    -ASP.net Master Pages support
    - AJAX kit pages
    - Improved product & entity maintenance pages
    - Typed AppConfigs
    - AJAX AppConfig page
    - AJAX minicart
    - New gateways (NetGiro & PayLeap)
    - Easy URL rewrites
    - Friendly error message handling with a log in the admin site
    - Performance improvements
    - Now use standard .NET membership for authentication
    - Improved handling of Zip Codes for Countries
    - Removed all ComponentArt controls
    - Mobile browsing
    - Addins
    - Avalera integration
    - Improved kit functionality

That's just some simple changes in the web.config. More info here.
