Default outofstock / instock messages not appearing on product pages

We're using version 8.0.1.2 - Just set up our inventory control to display out of stock products. Everything appears to be set up just as it's described in the manual, however neither the "In stock" nor the "Out of stock" messages are appearing in the product pages.

The only entity that they are appearing in is the "Customers Who Also Bought" box.

Any ideas on what may be the culprit?

Thanks in advance for any help you can offer.

Can we see a screenshot of the inventory control screen in the admin section? Which xmlpackage(s) are you using? Are they custom xmlpackages?

Default Here's the inventory control screenshot

We're using product.VariantsInRightBar.xml.config for our product pages and entity.grid-top-level.xml.config for the category/entity pages. They probably were customized by the guy who designed our site.

Yes... Custom XML packages could break this functionality. Have you tried it with stock packages to see if it works there? We aren't aware of any issues with this feature.
