    Default Excel import - related products by SKU instead of ProductID

    I had a plan to relate products by SKU instead of ProductID because when compiling our spreadsheets to import products we obviously don't knwo what the product id's will be but we do know SKUs....

    However, this doesnt work with Excel import as the import method doesn't just stick the related products values in, it checks if they are valid product IDs...

    So none of my related product SKUs get inserted as i'd hoped.

    So has anyone previously disabled this part of the import method?
    Or know of a different way of doing this in bulk?

    I don't know of anyone disabling that functionality but I think you could modify the import process to identify the productID from a product SKU and create the relation that way.
