Default Your item has been added to cart popup

We have a page with a long list of variants (1-1200 at this point) to choose from and if someone adds an item to their cart they will more than likely add another item to the cart from the same page. To make this easy them, we have set the option to leave them on the same page when adding something to the cart.

We are having difficulties with people not understanding that they have in fact added something to the cart because basically the only thing that changes is the quantity of items in the cart.

Is there a way to have a popup that confirms the item has been added to the cart, then give them the option of continuing to shop or go directly to check out. If they checkout, then move the page to checkout and close the popup. If they decide to continue shopping, close the popup and return to the page.

I'd be very interested to find out if this is possible. We are experiencing the same problem.

No one has responded to this issue. I really wish they would.

You might want to look into upgrading to version 9, this sounds exactly like the new AJAX minicart

This might work for us, but I'm not sure.

Our problem is that customers sometimes have hundreds of items in their cart, and they buy many different variants of similar products. We don't need to give them the ability to view their cart dynamically, we need just need a quick and easy pop-up that would allow them to go to the cart or back to shopping, without displaying the many many items they may have in their cart.

Is this mini-cart configurable without customization? I.E. - Would we be able to set it up to appear once they add an item to the cart, and set it up to not display every item in the shopping cart (maybe just the last 5 they added)?

Sure, just set the Minicart.MaxLatestCartItemsCount AppConfig to how many items you want it to display.

Is there somewhere I can view exactly how this feature works? Before upgrading I'd kinda like to see the mini cart in action to make sure it'll do what we want it to.

I've already used this demo, when we initially looked at the software, and last time I checked I was unable to request another demo.

I'm sure you can use the demo many times...
I tried it over several months many times before we bought it

Also, I thought there was no demo for V9? only 8 right now?

Correct, we do plan to release a MLv9.0 demo but are a bit backlogged with the releases pending. We will have an updated demo released shortly. Currently, the demo is ML v8.0.1.2.
