Question admin folder does not work after restore

We recently had to restore our store front. After the restore process was complete we noticed that the renamed admin folder we created was there, but also that the original admin folder now also existed. On our attempt to go to log into the old admin location, it did not work.

So now we have 2 admin folders, but can not access either one. We want to to use the old one that we renamed. Any ideas, on how we can fix this issue.

We are running version 7 of the store front

    thanks in advance

There is an appconfig parameter for which folder your /admin/ is located in. Make sure you set it to the new folder name.

I think the config is called AdminDir

    Question update

So after doing a full restore, the site now is back online. Only is though the admin is pointed towards our dev.website.com

What I mean is if we go into IIS and stop the site, it redirects to our development copy. Where everything seems to be ok. Now if we turn the site back on through IIS and attempt to login into the admin section, it is like the folder does not exist.

All thought will be help full.

Check the LiveServer appconfig parameter (you'll have to check it directly in the database since you can't get into the admin section). Also make sure the web.config file is pointing to the correct database.
