    Default Real time shipping and freight items?

    Our client currently uses real time shipping but has some items that get charged a flat rate if over a certain weight. Is that possible to configure with storefront? Thanks.

    At this time there is no way to mix shipping types, i.e. real time shipping rates with flat rates. However you can set it so that after a certain weight for the package the customer has to call in to place an order, so that special arrangements can be made for shipping.

    All you need to do is set the rtshipping.(carrier).maxweight to the weight you want to start having them call in for the freight shipping.

    Other then that I think it would take some modifications to be able to add another shipping method while using real time shipping.
