Default Why Update to ML 8.0.1.2 from 8.0.1.1 ?

We've jsut updated from AspDotNetStorefront ML 8.0.1.1 to teh latest release. Try as we might, we had our techies do it, we can't find any info on what we've improved on. Why Update ML 8.0.1.2 from 8.0.1.1 ? I'm sure there are good reasons.

    So:

    1. Is it a bug-fix only? Which is fine
    2. Or did we get new toys to play with?

    Thanks

    martin

I thought so...i'll ask our team to post link to it...

I know for sure some new things:

    a) Master Pages (finally yes, but our skinning engine did everything MP did 7 years prior)
    b) ERPS integration rules/modules (tax/shipping/gateway/pricing/etc)
    c) Layouts (very cool. see my IMOJ photography thread)
    d) tons of interface updates
    e) cleaned out a lot of junk/old code (stuff I wrote 7 years ago)
    f) performance tweaks to get even more out of a page load response time
    g) WSI enhancements

    We've also got:

    • AJAX'ified kit pages (front end and back end)
    • Typed AppConfigs (boolean, enumerated list, etc)
    • AJAX minicart
    • Friendly error message handling, with a log in the admin site
    • New gateways (NetGiro, PayLeap)
    • Totally rewritten treeview components in the admin site (better navigation and speed)
    • Easy URL rewrites

...probably some more I'm forgetting too

Will it also include the new add-in model?

EDIT: Just realized this may be the "b) ERPS integration rules/modules (tax/shipping/gateway/pricing/etc)"

Default Jeez I started soemthing with this thread

Jeez I started soemthing with this thread. Its been running only 5 hours. And you lot jumped on it.

No new toys for this Brit to play with then? Never mind. No software is ever bug free and that includes ASPDNSF, so bug fixes is good. Boy-dun-good.

V9? I do hope you add the ability to sell to non-US states with V9. 'Tis but a simpel thing I'd of thought. I've been whinging on about it for ever (worse than any wife, I am).

Had to do our own fix in the end.

We love you Yanks, but please, there is a 'kin big world out there! So, please, make V9 less US centric.

So if I understand your response correctly, you're saying that version 9.0 will Not be an upgrade to ML/64 8.0.1.2 and that i will have to pay separately for a license to it even though i have Upgrade Protection?

I believe he was stating the Beta for Multi Store is a new purchase and not an upgrade path. I would suspect upgrading from ML 8.0.1.2 to ML 9.0 would be part of your upgrade protection.

I asked about the 9.0 Beta, to which Mike replied with the MultiStore Beta purchase information. Therefore version 9.0 Beta must be the MultiStore Beta, but nothing has been said about the MultiStore product being the upgrade path from the ML & ML/64 product line.

If I have to purchase a license for the Beta of the MultiStore, it's fair to assume that the license will be valid for the released version of the MultiStore product. Absolutely Nothing has said that current ML & ML/64 licenses will be valid for MultiStore when it's released.

    Default Version 8.0.2 Upgrade protection

I'd like to ssee clarity here too. My Version 8.0.1.2 Upgrade protection (single store) I would expect to cover me for any 9.0 single store. But perhaps, not, an upgrade to Multi v9.0, (although I can hope.) I assume 9.0 will be in 2 x versions Single & Multi Otherwise what have i paid for! But if there will be no single 9.0 then my upgrade to 9.0 will be to Multi 9.0

    Sorry for the confusion guys!

There will be two versions available: ML v9.0 and Multistore!

Currently, the Multistore product is available in beta (which is a paid beta).

We're right around the corner from releasing both versions (no confirmed date yet though!). The annual upgrades contracts will include the upgrade to ML v9.0, and there will be an upgrade path to Multistore as well. If anyone has any further questions, please feel free to contact sales@aspdotnetstorefront.com and we would be happy to answer those!

OK. Thanks for that. Seems reasonable to me. Quite fancy the multi version too. If upgrade pricing is not mad-crazy I'll go for it.
