    Default Adjusting RTS rates?

We're deploying a site for a client and one concern he has is that the RTS rates displaying on his site are quite a bit off from his old site, which also used realtime shipping rates for the same carriers. He was using Volusion before.

His weights are entered correctly. Are there any other factors that could dictate these variances in RTS rates between his old and new sites? Some ship methods are higher, some are lower for a given cart, so setting the markup appconfig isn't our best optioin. Thoughts? Thanks.

Might want to take a look at the weights for the each of the variants to make sure they are set properly (a default weight is used (specified via appconfig parameter) if the weight is invalid), and also review the Is Ship Separately setting for each. If items are marked as ship-separately items they will be sent over to the carrier as individual shipments and dimensions AND weight will be used to calculate the shipping rate for that single item. Then that rate will be added to the rate of any other ship separately items before finally being added to the rate of the items that are shipping together.

Thanks. I noticed his dimensions didnt have spaces. E.g., HHxWWxDD instead of HH x WW x DD. Would this be an issue?

Lots of factors go into the realtime rates.

    1. Residential/Commercial
    2. How the weights are split (ie. 70lbs in 1 box or 2)
    3. Saturday delivery day

lots of other parameters. Your best bet is look at the xml request for new and old systems and compare them
