    Default Search for entire category

Advanced search seems to need a text character(I have mine set to 1 character so I could enter an "a") but I would like to find all products in a category without having to enter any characters.

I'm not really sure what you're after here....seems like a search that doesn't take an input string isn't really a search. Why not just click the link in the menu for that category at that point?

Default Keeping focus on the search area

I admit not having a search term would seem overkill, but when you are trying to find something it really is helpful to show the whole category from the advanced search. Maybe a button that says: entire category(entity). It's a focusing issue, not programming.
