Default Question about Customer email address being added

We are entering new clients, as customers, via the admin interface which then shows the client on the front end of the site.

Much of the information is being entered to the dbo.address table however the email address seems not to be entered, therefore, when we look at the front end of the site, that field is blank.

Creating a new customer via the createaccount.aspx page circumvents the problem, but is there a way that we can achieve the same via the admin panel?

Could you please tell what version are you on? This doesn't seem to behave on ML8012.

    Version 8.0.0

Its quite annoying as we've spent a load of time entering details via the admin only for them not to show on the front end for a specific project.

The way around the problem is to enter the details via the createaccount.aspx page, which now means having to login as each customer and update details that way.

    Not good.
