If I need another feild to the user database will I need to make changes elsewhere ?

Well, if you need to alter the value from off the site, yes, you will need to update your code to add that field for insertion, update and deletion and for whatever purpose that field should be used. Could you please be more specific on what field are you trying to add and for what purpose?

Customer points, they are no longer updated its from an old system but we need to know they have them.
