    Default Configure Search

Is there a way to configure search?

The advanced search has many fields that are not relavant to my store and the full text search is to resource intensive for what I am doing.

Is there a way to configure the basic search to search titles and descriptions?

So, you want to remove the rest of the search fields in searchadv.aspx and have it search for Title and Description only? Yes, you can do that by modifying the page.searchadv.config.xml file, but there is no built-in appconfig parameter for that.

I'm wondering, why not use the basic search function below the top menu instead in the homepage?
