    Default Development ADMIN page.

I have set up a Development Environment for my website. (www.DevelopmentEnv.MyDomain.com)

How do I set it up so when I go to my admin page, it will connect to my development site and development DB rather than my production one (www.MyDomain.com)

    Thank You.

To do that you'd just need to set the connection in your web.config to point to your dev enviornment DB server.

I am already pointing my DBConn to my Dev Database. That's all set. However,

    www.Dev.MyDomain.com/admin

    gets redirected to:

    www.MyDomain.com/admin

I didn't see where I could make a change in the web.config. Any other pointers?

    Thanks,
    Marc

Come to think of it, are there any necessary changes needed to be made to the AppConfigs for the dev environment? It's pretty much an exact copy of my live site.

I am trying to turn off the UseSLL appconfig on my dev site to develop on the shopping cart pages etc.

    Thanks again.

You need to turn off redirecttowww appconfig. Or I think that is the appconfig variable name. Search for redirect in apppconfig and you should find it. We usually turn off usessl as well after cloning live db down to dev db.

I found 'RedirectLiveToWWW' but it is already set to FALSE.

Any other settings somewhere that would not allow me to access my ADMIN page on my DEV environment?

Also, is it safe to change USESSL to FALSE in the backend?

Turning UseSSL to False and restarting the site worked!

    Thanks for your help.

Default I set these appconfig values directly in SQL... however

when logging into my local dev site.. and/or trying to go to the /admin or /thesntadmin (my renamed) it keeps redirecting me to SignIn.aspx..
    Any ideas?
    Thanks,
    rich

    Rich,

That normally happens when attempting to access the Admin Console, when not signed in as an Admin level user.
