    Question URL, SEO, and ///

The aspdnsf manual talks about search engines cutting off a URL after a certain number of variable strings, leading to problems with duplicate URLs, and therefore less effective SEO.

Does this problem also apply to "/"

Giving an example, is www.mydomain.com/shop/my-product.aspx going to be less effective than www.mydomain.com/my-product.aspx?

I haven't heard of penalties based on using a virtual directory versus the root domain. There certainly could be if your url was something like http://www.mystore.com/a/b/c/d/e/f/g...myproduct.aspx, but a single subdomain I would expect to have little impact.
