Default Who is hosting on Mosso?

I am interested in user experiences hosting AspDotNetStorefront on Mosso. Do you have a site there? What version of AspDotNetStorefront are you running. Are there any "gotcha's"?

    Thanks, Charles

You'll need ML v8.0.1 or higher to run in a clustered environment like Mosso. In that release, we made two significant changes:
    • We modified our code that detects the IP Address of the client. This IP Address is used by MaxMind MinFraud as well as several Gateways to detect fraudulent transactions. In a clustered envirnoment, a request actually comes from the load balancer, not directly from the client, so we now detect this scenario, and look upstream for the actual client IP Address.
    • We modified the handling of SSL traffic. With Mosso, an SSL channel is established only to the load balancer, not to a specific server in the cloud. The actual request between the load balancer and the server(s) is non-SSL on Port 80. We now detect these requests, and switch between http and https properly.

There are two "gotchas" that you should be aware of:
    • We typically tell merchants to "touch" their web.config to restart the website after changing a configuration setting. But in a clustered environment, there can be many instances of web.config in use. Mosso (and any other cluster) supplies a button, "Restart Website" on their Admin Panel to restart the website.
    • We have a feature to "Encrypt your web.config" file once everything is finally configured. This feature also won't work in a clustered environment. You can still encrypt your web.config on your local computer, and FTP it to your Mosso site, but you cannot do it directly on Mosso.

Please feel free to contact our sales department and we can let you know what would need to happen to upgrade, as well as the changes that have taken place since the release of 7.1.0.0. They can be reached by email at sales@aspdotnetstorefront.com or via telephone at (602) 490-0243 ext 2.
