Thread: Mail Gift card to a 3rd party, possible?

I'm hoping someone can help answer this.

We would like to offer gift card purchases on our site, -but- we want the buyer to be able to include the email address of the person they want to send the card's serial number too, in an email.

In short, a customer could order a gift card for someone else.

It would work like this:

Step 1: The customer purchases a gift card
Step 2: The customer includes an email address for the gift card's serial number to be sent to.
Step 3: After checkout, the customer gets an order confirmation for the gift card (as usual)
Step 4: The 3rd party recipient would then receive an email with the gift card serial number in it. Which they can use for purchases.

Anyone done this? Is it even possible?

Yes, that is certainly possible. You should only have to set the product type to 'Gift Card Email', and AspDotNetStorefront will take care of the rest.
