    Default Cloning Categories

Is there a way to clone entire categories? Also when I attempt to clone products the photo is erased, how can I keep the photo through the clone?

We don't have a clone category no (sorry)...it's not needed very often.

RE: cloning pics, since we store them at the filesystem level for ease of access/management of the image files, you just have to copy them/re-ftp them yourself to line up with the new products.

Thinking about this more...you could (if you have hundreds/thousands of these to clone) use WSI automation to do this...it actually could be done pretty easily via WSI, and a specialized windows client that lets you control the clone part.

e.g. extract entire entity Xml via WSI...change/clone it, and re-import back via WSI

    Same for product images, etc...

WSI is EXTREMELY powerful, but it takes developers to drive it and leverage what it can do in situations like this.

WSI could even do the automagic image cloning (it already suports image retrieval and upload via Base64 encoded data)...

We do not, however you can use the WSI suggestion that was provided previously to handle this type of thing. Please also feel free to submit features suggestions to suggestion@aspdotnetstorefront.com
