    ASPDNSF Staff - Andrew Guest

    Default ML 7.1 has been released!

    We’re happy to announce the release of ML 7.1. Listed below are some of the new features/enhancements introduced into the build.

    -Annual VISA PABP Re-Certification has been completed.. This represents a continued major investment in our support for VISA payment standards, and very few other carts do this certification still.
    -Security updates
    -Significant improvements have been made to the ‘look and feel’ of the admin site which includes better styling and more accessible controls.
    -Changes to the Admin site for Firefox compatibility
    -Updates made to many payment gateways (Google, PayPal, Skipjack, etc.)
    -Updates made to real time shipping interfaces
    -Maxmind service now supported on Google Checkout orders
    -Updated state names to the new names for Armed Forces locations
    -Product and Entity names can now be 400 characters in length.
    -Ability to sort real time shipping rates by price
    -Added the ability to mark a product as “No Shipping Required”
    -Several updates made to the WSI automation interface
    -Added support for importing/updating extended pricing for customer levels
    -Added support for setting transaction states (e.g. Authorize the CC via the storefront then send CAPTURE commands to WSI from external fulfillment inventory/shipping systems once the order is complete.)
    -Recurring order notifications can now be customized through string resources
    -Validation updates to the one page checkout
    -Updated shipping logic to handle more complex cart scenarios
    -Added support for UPS2 shipping rates
    -Support for UPS negotiated rates
    -Delivery confirmation options
    -Ability to reorder, remove and rename shipping methods
    -Support for any UPS package type
    -Supports centimeters for dimensions
    -Added support for the new ga.js Google tracking code
    -Optimized db.getxml routines
    -Multi-ship updates and fixes
    -Gift registry updates and fixes.

    v7.1 can be downloaded from your licenses page for licenses with current support & update contracts.

    yes, scenarios where cart contains these items (all at the same time)

    a) free shipping items
    b) normal items
    c) download items
    d) free threshold shipping items
    e) multi-ship factored all on top of a,b,c,d

    now you know again why why this is not a toy cart LOL

    The complexity of scenarios today is like 10 TIMES more complicated than 2 years ago.

    then you factor Google Checkout on top of a,b,c,d,e, and anon checkouts enabled, etc again

    Hi!
    Based on past experience, can you confirm if the 7.1 VB download link that I have on my product downloads area is really the updated VB.net 7.1 version?

    Or does the link say 7.1 but it only still downloads the old version?

    TIA,
    Jo

    haha, yes, good point. We now release VB same day (or almost) as C#...as we've adopted a new requirement on issuing versions, to ensure this.

    in the past, VB has lagged a week or more...but not anymore

    Default Recent Security Update

    If we upgrade from a pre-7.0.2.5 store, will this cover the SP1 security updates that recently came out?

    Thanks

    Any chance of a screenshot of the 'hot' looking admin area?

    Default Question

    As per an earlier post:

    VS.NET 2008/C# 3.0/.net 3.5/SQL2005/SQL2008
    Can you confirm that 7.1 is done in VS.NET 2008?

    There's a solution file for 2008 and I'm running 2008 without issues, so yes it's supported for ML only.

    Default Customised sites

    I have customised a number of pages and some modules in the Common lib. Do you have a list of changed modules or should I just assume that everything has changed and reapply my changes?

    Your best bet would be to /diff the files and replace those that have changed. Ensure you make adequate backups as always.

    Thanks,

    So, how do we set up our storefront to use these negotiated rates? Im not seeing anything in the online manual. (Dosent mean its not there, just that I dont see it. )

    Thanks for the good work guys and gals at ADNSF!

    It's not a secret. Disclosure of not-so-secret screenshot commencing. Notice how the "summary" tab is moused over. I think it's very nice. Those of you who upgrade and have graphical issues in Firefox or other browsers can submit a support ticket for a patch.

    I find those tabs really difficult to read- not enough contrast and an overuse of the aqua style IMO.

    When i can be bothered i intend to replace them as they reeeally bug me.

    where can I find the 2008 solution? ot do I just open the 2005 solution file using 2008 and let the VS do the conversion?

    is 7.1 on .Net 3.5?

    those colors are css controlled so easy to change, and they would not be my first choice of colors either

    Many more admin changes ahead so this is just a very small start.

    Anyone else notice all the harcoded ~/admin/ paths in the admin aspx pages.? If you rename the admin folder as suggested, then you will have to update these yourself.
    Or perhaps it would be better to just Find and Replace all occurences of "~/Admin/" with an empty string.

    Can you point me to an example of this? I tested here locally and don't see any issues with it. Let us know.

    That's odd - I'm also on 7.1 and this is my list:

    Code:

    My appconfig.aspx has a date of 16 May 2008 and line 150 is:

    Code:
    <asp:CommandField ButtonType="Image" CancelImageUrl="skins/Skin_1/images/cancel.gif" EditImageUrl="skins/Skin_1/images/edit.gif" ShowEditButton="True" UpdateImageUrl="skins/Skin_1/images/update.gif" />
    which is different to yours. I think this is because I also took a fix for after 7.1 which was to fix missing buttons etc and there must have been some omissions in the list of files that were sent in that fix.

    my appconfig.aspx has a date of May 2.
    The fix to missing buttons sounds like exactly this problem. It is the images to these buttons that are hard-coded.

    Without getting too antsy about this, it is a pain to keep applying updates when you have made mods to the source code.

    The 7.1 update came only a week after the 7.0.2.5 SP1 update. It took me a day each time to merge my mods with those two updates, then came the half a dozen files in the last fix and now another half a dozen in the pipeline.

    Apart from the security update, couldn't it all have been rolled into 7.1? I lost about 2.5 days development time as a result, plus logging the missing images bug on the forum.

    There was no way to know that 7.1 would be deemed ready for deployment as soon as it was. Everything goes through QA, and there is always an alotted window for such prior to releasing a revision. Since we had no idea how long QA would take on a product, the security fix was released as a service pack to 7.0.2.5. It just so happened that 7.1 was ready for release a week after the service pack was released.

    I understand you being frustrated with modifying your product twice in succession. I cannot say that it will not happen again at some point. I recommend you store your modifications separately and comment them heavily to make such transitions as painless as possible.

    Source Code repository and control technologies can help manage the updates ASPDNSF publish.

    Just FYI, in 7.1 (maybe earlier still a newbie) in the admin when you are in "editProduct.aspx" and it shows the product mappings, the CSS has the tab-container height set to 50 pixels, not nearly enough space to show a handful of product mapping options...

    {
    background: #ffffff;
    border: 1px solid #6D99B6;
    overflow: visible;
    height: 50px;
    }

    The height tag just simply needs to be removed...

    {
    background: #ffffff;
    border: 1px solid #6D99B6;
    overflow: visible;

    }

    this is the /admin/skins/Skin_1/style.css and is the 5th class from the top.

    Thanks. To make everyone aware we're slowly phasing out the 'Edit Products' section in the admin and it's no longer being updated. Please use the product manager from here on out.

    -Added support for setting transaction states (e.g. Authorize the CC via the storefront then send CAPTURE commands to WSI from external fulfillment inventory/shipping systems once the order is complete.)
    Can you please provide an example of this? I have been all over the forums and through the documentation and cannot find the WSI routine to send CAPTURE back to the storefront.

    The OrderManagement node is responsible for sending commands such as "Capture".
    Code:
     <OrderManagement OrderNumber="integer" Action="Void|Capture|FullRefund|ForceFullRefund|MarkAsFraud|ClearFraud|BlockIP|AllowIP|SetTracking|GetReceipt|GetDistributorNotifications|SendDownloadNotification|SimulateDownloadNotification|SendDistributorNotification|ChangeOrderEMail|MarkAsReadyToShip|ClearReadyToShip|MarkAsShipped|SetPrivateNotes|SetCustomerServiceNotes|SendToShipRush|SendToFedexShippingMgr|MarkAsPrinted|SendReceipt|ClearNewStatus|Delete" RefundReason="text" TrackingNumber="text" ShippingCarrier="text" Notes="text" NewEMail="text" />
